By utilizing high-performance rare earth permanent magnet materials, the rotor generates a stable magnetic field, powered by the stator's rotating magnetic field, ensuring rotor speed aligns with synchronous speed without requiring excitation current or windings, thus optimizing energy efficiency.
2). In contrast, asynchronous motors induce current in the rotor using the stator's rotating magnetic field to produce electromagnetic torque, leading to a rotor speed below synchronous speed.
3). Permanent magnet motors display a power density roughly 30% greater than asynchronous motors of similar power, enabling a reduction of 1-2 frame sizes, which lessens both iron and mechanical losses.
4). The permanent magnet synchronous motor offers superior efficiency compared to its asynchronous equivalent of equal power. Notably, it features an expansive high-efficiency zone, operating efficiently within a speed range of 25% to 100% of the rated speed.
