Principle of Energy Saving
1). Utilizing high-performance rare earth permanent magnet materials, the rotor of the permanent magnet synchronous motor creates a consistent magnetic field (formed by permanent magnets and current). The stator's rotating magnetic field propels the rotor magnetic field, ensuring the rotor's speed matches the synchronous speed, thus doing away with the need for excitation current and winding, culminating in high energy efficiency.
2). In contrast, an asynchronous motor relies on the stator's rotating magnetic field to generate an induced current in the rotor to produce electromagnetic torque. The magnetic field isn't directly generated in the rotor, necessitating that its speed be less than the synchronous speed.
3). Permanent magnet motors boast a power density approximately 30% higher than that of asynchronous motors with identical power ratings. This translates to permanent magnet motors being 1-2 frame sizes smaller than their asynchronous counterparts. Such compactness means minimized iron loss and mechanical losses.
